Reproductive health
Introduction

Graduates of this course will be able to/contribute to:

Midwifery
Introduction

Introduction to the course of Master's degree in Midwifery:
The field of midwifery is a branch of basic medical sciences that can be safely called the "observer of the glory of creation" which at the master's level is aimed at training specialists in the fields of clinical midwifery and healthcare services, education and research related to a woman's reproductive period. from before birth to adolescence, youth, middle age and old age) in a period of about two years, which can provide midwifery and reproductive health services at different levels of prevention, as a member of the health team and independently to clients to do
The students of this stage in this group can apply new scientific techniques in the field of midwifery by acquiring theoretical and practical skills in the field of education, research and team work, management, etc. and in one of the subgroups : Midwifery and maternal and child health education continues and they can be effective in promoting and improving the health status of women, children and families and overall the health of the society. One of the important missions of this field in the master's degree is to provide clinical services in maternity units, which unfortunately has faced a shortage of staff in these years, which is in line with the policies announced by the Supreme Leader and the Law on Family and Youth Protection. There is an opportunity to attract human resources in this field.
It should be noted that this university does not have a bachelor's degree and the first postgraduate course in this field was launched in Tarbiat Modares University in 1985.

* Graduates of this course of midwifery have many abilities, such as:
- Performing counseling and health care throughout the reproductive period of women' life, and also during pregnancy, in midwifery duties.
-Performing normal/abnormal and safe deliveries and ensuring the health of mother and baby and reducing their mortality, managing pregnancies and deliveries requiring special care and midwifery emergencies.
- Consulting in midwifery for postpartum health care, breastfeeding and complications of this period, before and after marriage, family planning, infertile couple, physical, mental and social health of mother and baby and family, etc.
- Advising on new methods of family planning and gaining practical experience in planning and implementing various methods of preventing unwanted pregnancies and also helping couples who need access to accurate information and safe, effective, affordable and acceptable contraception method of their choice.
- Performing counseling and principles of treatment and primary care in gynecological diseases and infertility.

- Helping women in the clinics or hospitals, to be able to have a satisfying and have a fit pregnancy, safe delivery and healthy baby, and having a state of complete physical, mental, social well-being and the rights of reproductive health in all matters related to the reproductive system.
