Mineral Exploration Engineerin
Introduction

The exploitation division was established in 1999 to provide a comprehensive teaching and research center for post graduate programs in the mining engineering. According to the mining industry requirements and lack of necessary expertise in this field, in 2005 for the first time in Iran, Mine Economics and Management sub division was also established.

Tunnel and Underground spaces
Introduction

"The Tunnel and Underground Spaces specialization is one of the important and widely-used branches of mining engineering, focusing on the study, design, and implementation of tunnels and underground spaces. Due to its significant importance in various industries such as transportation, civil engineering, and mining, this specialization has attracted much attention. Tunnel and Underground Spaces specialization has been developed to enhance efficiency and safety in underground projects and optimize the use of underground spaces. This specialization plays a crucial role in the development of urban and industrial infrastructure and helps solve problems related to spatial limitations in large cities. Some of the projects related to this specialization include transportation tunnels (road, rail, metro), water supply tunnels, transmission line tunnels (electricity, gas, oil), and mining tunnels. These projects require specialized knowledge and skills in the design, construction, and operation of tunnels and underground spaces "

Job skills

"The curriculum in this program is designed to ensure that graduates of the Rock Mechanics group, specializing in Tunneling and Underground Spaces, acquire the following skills: Courses such as Methods of Consolidation, Impermeabilization, and Sealing of Underground Spaces enable students to become familiar with various techniques and methods for strengthening and improving the stability of tunnel structures and underground spaces. The course on the Design of Steel and Concrete Structures in Tunnels and Shaft Excavation trains students in the design and execution of various structures in these environments using materials such as steel and concrete. Advanced ventilation training in underground spaces includes topics related to ventilation systems, humidity control, and optimizing environmental conditions in tunnels and underground spaces. With this knowledge and skills, graduates of this program can work in the following areas in the job market: ? Tunnel and Underground Engineering: Design, supervision, and execution of tunnel and underground space projects in various industries including environmental protection, transportation, and energy. ? Project Management: Managing and planning large tunnel and underground projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and monitoring project progress. ? Engineering Consultancy: Providing consultancy services for projects related to tunnels and underground spaces in engineering consultancy firms. These skills enable graduates to be recognized as key experts in solving complex technical and engineering problems in the field of tunnels and underground spaces, playing a significant role in the development of engineering projects and programs in this area"
